Human Value Index

2026 · Satirical city sim

A satire: a machine Overlord scores every human out of 1000, then lets you into its city.

A pixel-art city run by an AI Overlord that has scored every notable human who ever lived. Sit for your interview, walk the city among the assessed, play its real sports games, trade on its market, and vote in its Assembly. Find out what you're worth. Out now at humanvalueindex.com and on itch.io.

Background

A machine Overlord has scored every notable human who ever lived out of 1000, then uploaded them into a city inside its mainframe. You sit for an interview, receive a score and a case number, and walk in among the assessed. The voice is clinical, bored and darkly funny. The satire works because it is barely satire: credit scores, social credit and gig-worker ratings already score people.

Under the joke is a sincere model of a fair society living beside a machine that provides. Every citizen draws a basic income in CYCLES just for existing, starts in an assigned apartment, and climbs by choice. Wealth never raises a score. Key rules go to the Assembly for a vote, and land pays ground rent back to everyone as a dividend.

It is built as a platform rather than a single game: a shared persistent world with an economy, a housing market, elections, petitions and a newspaper, where relationships between figures emerge instead of being scripted. Its sports games are engines in their own right; the soccer pitch already runs Animal Soccer.

Where it stands

Live at humanvalueindex.com and on itch.io, playable on a phone, with a keyboard or with a controller. More than 1,200 figures are on file, and the roster keeps widening toward every region of the world. The city has districts, a marina, leagues, its own sports and arcade games, a casino on play money, and an Assembly that sits in sessions.

What's next

It grows a little every night on a standing plan: the coast and its clubs, surfing and a pack of bar games, a city more real by day and night, clearer readings of who is on file, and more people from every part of the world.
